Fail to plan, plan to fail!

This is very true as it is so important to take time to work out exactly how you are going to achieve the goals you have set for yourself and your business over the coming months – I hope you’ve set yourself goals!

This is where your marketing plan comes in and should be a system that you continually use to keep you on track.

It doesn’t need to be a complex document, keep it simple so that it is easy to follow.  To give you an example of a marketing plan, mine includes the following:

12 Month Strategy Plan – this gives details of what products I am promoting each month and what new products I need to be working on so that I have clear focus each month.  This means I am taking a more proactive approach to marketing so that everything gets done.

Marketing Funnel – this lists all the different products I offer now and what will be launched in the future.  This is a particularly useful document as it is a visual picture of the different product price points and how each product relates to each other.

Product Planner – this comes in 2 parts and is a great reference for what I have to do for each new product.  The first document lists all new products as well as their proposed launch dates.  The second document is detailed information on content to product each month for my membership programmes.

Monthly Planning – to make it easier to achieve my long term goals, I split them into smaller monthly goals that I can then split into specific actions and set dates.

Editorial Planner – this is a visual list of everything I have to do each month for my regular marketing activities.  It will include tasks like writing newsletter content, loading up blog posts etc.

Activities Planner – this is a visual list of all regular marketing activities I complete each month so that it is easier to track where the results are coming from.

Your action plan
This is where you need to take action! Think about:
