When it comes to marketing, some people think it’s this mystical thing that’s really hard work and something they don’t like to do because they feel they haven’t got the skills needed
So how can you make your life so much easier and nail your marketing in 15 minutes?
Chunk it down and batch tasks
This is such a simple thing but it really is effective and works!
Hopefully you are using the Brain Dump technique to create your task list (if not, check out this article)
One thing that my clients have found helped them so much is to break tasks down into small chunks that will take 5, 10 or 30 minutes to complete. They can then easily manage what work they can get done in the time they have available
You also batch together tasks to make the most of your time so look at similar tasks that naturally fit together and batch them
Where to actually spend your time
When it comes to your business, especially if you’re limited with time, where you spend that valuable time is crucial as time really does equal money 💯
So instead of pissing about on social media or whatever distraction you have, you need to stop and focus on what you need to do to bring money into your business
Use your task list from your Brain Dump and crack on – consider this a kick up the ass to stop pissing about!
Talk to the right people
Think about the type of person you like working with, what have they got in common? What industry are they in? What are their biggest challenges that you can help them with?
For my first business as a Virtual Assistant, I worked with Coaches and Trainers as I had experience working with these people and I enjoyed the work that they needed completed. This made them my ideal client and these were the people I focussed my marketing attention on
Work out your ideal client but don’t think it has to be set in stone. You can change your ideal client as your business evolves and you build new products and skills
Talk the right language
Every niche (group of people you want to work with) will have their own type of language and it’s a great idea for you to try to understand that language so you can make sure the way you deliver your message is appropriate – no point being all relaxed and laid back when it’s a blue chip organisation
To become expert status, you will need to demonstrate that you totally understand them. Part of this will be done by getting in their head or virtually walking in their shoes
You need to find out what the big problems they’re facing – you want to make sure the product or solution you have is the right thing for you both. You need to look at:
- What keeps them up at night?
- What are they worrying about?
- What will they pay anything to get their problem solved?
- What exactly do they need help with?
Get them on the list
This is your ultimate goal when it comes to marketing as you want a way to stay in touch with people – like I’m doing with you right now!
You can share your expertise to build relationships with potential customers and then offer them your product or service
Which of these tips are you going to work on first?
